Swan Lake
2018-2019 Program
Our season performance piece will contain selections from Swan Lake, which premiered over 140 years ago and is now known as one of the world's most popular ballets. Based on the Russian fairy-tale, “The White Duck,” Pyotr Tchaikovsky's music beautifully brings the ballet to life onstage. The Costume Ball at the Palace in Act III of Swan Lake utilizes many of ballet's international influences, including the Russian "Mazurka," Poland's "Polonaise," and Hungary's "Czardes."
